TAG LiveWords privacy policy
Effective October 18, 2026. TAG LiveWords is operated by The Accessibility Guy (Shawn Jordison). Contact: shawnjordison0000@gmail.com.
Who this covers
The host is the one owner account that signs in and runs events. Attendees are people who open a caption link. People who speak during an event are captioned if their voice reaches the host's microphone or the shared Riverside tab.
Google user data
TAG LiveWords requests only these Google permissions, and only from the host:
- Sign-in (your basic profile and email address, through Supabase). This is used only to confirm that the person signing in is the approved owner. Anyone else is refused.
- Google Drive, limited to files this app creates (the
drive.filepermission). The app creates one private folder and one Google Doc per event in it. Before it updates a document, it checks that the document is still private and still in that folder. It cannot see or open any other files in your Drive.
The Google Drive access token is stored encrypted and used only to save your transcripts. Google user data is not sold, not shared with anyone, not used for advertising, and not used to train AI models. TAG LiveWords's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can remove the app's access at any time in your Google Account under Security, Third-party apps and services.
Audio and captions
- During an event, audio from the sources the host chooses is sent to OpenAI only to create captions. Audio is not recorded or stored by TAG LiveWords.
- Captions are shown to the host and to anyone with that event's attendee link. The link stops working shortly after the event ends.
- While an event runs, an encrypted copy of the transcript is saved every 30 seconds so it is not lost if something fails. That copy is deleted after the transcript is saved to the host's Google Drive. If saving fails, it is kept until the host saves or removes it.
- The app keeps a usage record for each event (title, times, duration and cost estimate), but not the spoken words.
Attendees
Attendees do not sign in. The caption page does not use cookies or store the captions in the browser, and it never uses the attendee's microphone. Like any website, the hosting provider processes your IP address to deliver the page.
Service providers
- OpenAI: speech to text.
- Supabase: sign-in and the database that holds usage records and encrypted transcript copies.
- Render: hosting.
- Google: sign-in and the host's Drive.
Each provider handles data under its own terms. TAG LiveWords does not sell data or use it for advertising.
Cookies
The host's browser stores secure sign-in cookies that are needed to keep the host signed in. There are no tracking or advertising cookies.
